Suresh canagarajah
Suresh Canagarajah is currently a Applied Linguistics and English professor in Penn State University. He was educated in Sri Lanka under British rule. As he received his education and later taught in Sri Lanka, he realized the "centrality of English for transnational relations." Thus, he focused his research and further investigation on socialinguistics, writing research papers such as Translingual Practice. In this research paper, he coins a new term translingualism, and deeply analyzes the roots and function of multilingualism in communication.
